Barge Topside Technician

Full Time Topside Technician

Marrero, LA, US

New Orleans, LA

Responsibilities:

• Maintenance and repair of barge equipment.

• Working alongside of a customer representative daily.

• Perform preventative maintenance to avoid operational failures.

• Greasing all parts and components of the barge.

• Chipping and painting rusty areas of the barge.

• Reporting directly to the job sight in the morning.


Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• Ability to lift and carry 50lbs for extended distances.

• Ability to work in any and all adverse weather conditions.

• Ability to climb ladders, stairs and gangways up to 25 feet in height.

• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch and work above head for extended periods of time.

• Ability to operate Rio Marine vehicles in a safe and courteous manner.

• Valid TWIC card and driver’s license.

• Experience working on or around tugboats and barges.

• Clean Driving Record are required to be eligible for hire.

• Must be willing to work odd hours in a non - climate control and onboard barges, tugboats, and offshore supply vessel, 24-7-365
