Job description

Part-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt, Available for: Weekend services, Midweek rehearsals & Occasional Evening or Off-Site Events

SUMMARY:

Responsible for operating and maintaining audio, visual, and lighting systems to support engaging and seamless worship services and events. Collaborates closely with the worship and production teams to create high-quality live and broadcast experiences.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate and maintain professional audio equipment including Yamaha CL5/QL1 consoles, microphones, in-ear monitors, and Universal Audio interfaces.

• Mix front-of-house and broadcast audio for worship services and special events.

• Set up and run video systems, including broadcast and DSLR cameras, switchers, and monitors.

• Design and execute lighting cues using GrandMA lighting consoles or equivalent systems.

• Collaborate with the worship team, musicians, and event leaders to deliver cohesive and inspiring experiences.

• Support stage set ups, live event recordings, and multimedia presentations using ProPresenter, Keynote, and PowerPoint.

• Perform regular system checks and preventive maintenance on AVL equipment.

• Assist in training and onboarding Volunteers and Part-Time technicians.

• Troubleshoot technical issues in high-pressure environments with poise and professionalism.

• Stay current with industry trends and technologies; participate in ongoing training and development.

• Assist with editing and post-production of video and audio content as needed.

OTHER GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Respond calmly and professionally to crises, as they occur.

• Use computers proficiently, including Microsoft Office, ProPresenter, and media presentation tools.

• Perform other duties as requested by the Minister of Worship.

• Assist with AVL equipment inventory and storage organization.

QUALIFICAITONS:

• Must be an active member of a Christian church and affirm the mission, values, and mission measures of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church.

EDUCATION AND OR EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate’s degree preferred.

• 2–3 years of experience in live audio and video production.

• Dante Level 1 certification required.

• Experience with large-format Yamaha consoles and ProPresenter preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

• Ability to communicate clearly in English.

REASONING ABILITY:

• Ability to apply common sense with the understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

• Frequent standing, walking, reaching, bending, and climbing.

• Requires normal vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Work takes place in worship centers, backstage areas, and tech booths.

• Noise levels range from moderate to high depending on the production environment.
