Job description

Architectural Staff Level II – San Francisco (On-Site)

Our client, an established architecture firm, is seeking an Architectural Staff Level II professional with at least six years of experience. This person will contribute to the design and technical development of projects through multiple phases, handling assignments independently with minimal guidance and coordinating closely with project managers, consultants, and other team members.

Licensed candidates may be considered at the equivalent Architect Level II classification.

The position is suited to someone with strong architectural design and documentation experience who can resolve technical issues, support project coordination, and begin providing guidance to less-experienced staff.

Responsibilities

  • Develop architectural drawings, models, and technical documentation across multiple project phases.
  • Work independently on design and documentation assignments of increasing size and complexity.
  • Evaluate conceptual and technical design ideas and develop practical solutions to project challenges.
  • Produce accurate, coordinated project documents using Revit, AutoCAD, and other modeling tools.
  • Review and redline drawings, specifications, reports, and related project materials.
  • Incorporate current project information, revisions, and consultant input into drawing sets and models.
  • Review consultant documents and coordinate architectural work with other project disciplines.
  • Participate in consultant coordination sessions and assist with documenting client and consultant meetings.
  • Research, compile, and analyze information needed to support project design and documentation.
  • Track assignments against project schedules and communicate progress, questions, and potential issues to project leaders.
  • Contribute to the production and coordination of 3D models.
  • Provide technical guidance to less-experienced architectural staff as appropriate.
  • Complete additional project-related assignments as needed.

Qualifications

  • Professional degree in architecture from an accredited program preferred.
  • At least six years of professional architectural experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of architectural design, technical documentation, construction methods, and building codes.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and 3D modeling software.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and SketchUp is helpful.
  • Architectural licensure is welcomed but not required. Candidates who are not yet licensed should be progressing toward registration.
  • Familiarity with sustainable and integrated design practices.
  • Experience coordinating architectural documents with consultants and other disciplines.

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Careful attention to detail and document accuracy.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organization and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and adjust to changing project needs.
  • Comfortable collaborating with project teams, consultants, and clients.
  • Able to provide constructive technical guidance to less-experienced team members.
  • Adaptable, self-motivated, and interested in continued professional development.

Candidates must currently reside in the San Francisco Bay Area and be available to work locally. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employment sponsorship.
