Theย Opportunity

As a member of the Property Appraisal Triage team at Definity, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely distribution of assignments to the desk appraisers and National CAT adjusters, while acting as a trusted partner to internal teams and a national network of repair vendors.ย 

You will review estimates, monitor compliance with program standards, provide guidance on estimating software and industry best practices, and help resolve complex property claim challenges.

This role combines basic estimating experience, relationship management, and problem-solving, offering the opportunity to work closely with vendor partners on pricing, protocols, and emerging technologies that enhance claims outcomes. You will also contribute to process improvements, research industry trends, and support strategic initiatives that drive operational excellence.

The ideal candidate brings experience in property claims and restoration, along with strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset. Success in this role requires the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, build strong partnerships, and deliver exceptional customer service. ย 

Whatย toย Expect

  • Ensuring compliance with Property Vendor Program Instructions and have a working knowledge of Xactanalysis and Guidewire Claims Center (optional)ย 
  • Assist in reviewing new assignments and assigning them to the appropriate Appraiser/Group to handleย 
  • Collaborate with all Definity Repair Partners to build positive working relationships
  • Monitors estimating platforms to ensure vendors adhere to the Contractor Program Instructionย 
  • Works closely with national stakeholders on various programs and protocolsย 
  • Background and ability to read and interpret industry standard scope / estimates
  • Assist with distribution of file escalationsย 
  • Maintains a high level of expertise in all estimating software and hardwareย 
  • Participates in projects and other initiatives as assigned by Claims Management Team

What youย Bringย 

  • Professional, efficient and courteous in all interactions whether with various stakeholders
  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft suite of software (Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook , Teams, OneNote, OneDrive and Co-Pilot)ย 
  • Former experience with construction estimating is an asset
  • Experience with Verisk estimating software and basic building code knowledge (optional)
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is required, with particular strength in written communication. The role requires the ability to manage written correspondence and requests in both languages
  • Able to remain calm under pressure and perform well in a busy work environment with limited supervisory interactionย 
  • Must value teamwork, ownership and flexibilityย 

Salaryย Range:ย $ $51,300 - $94,400

High degree ofย proficiencyย with Englishย requiredย to service customers, both internal to the company and external, across Canada.ย 

Actual salary for the role may vary depending on work location of the successful candidate and other factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, working conditions and the local labour market.
