About the role
We are seeking an AI Engineer who will develop our new AI-first Loan Origination product. This role will focus on delivering production-ready, auditable, and high-performance AI system, supporting our continued growth as a SaaS business and strengthening internal processes, performance, and cross-team alignment.
What you'll do
  • Use LLMs and RAG techniques for accurate data classification. Apply rules and graph-based models to represent relationships between borrowers, entities, and assets
  • Work with team to implement agentic in-app experience that enable users to interrogate, explore, and act on data insights
  • Implement observability and feedback loops to monitor model performance, implement human-in-the-loop validation, and continuously improve accuracy over time.

Qualifications
  • 2-3 years of full-time professional experience (post-graduation) developing and managing production AI systems that use LLMs. Academic projects, internships, or part-time work during degree programs will not be considered as professional experience.
  • Hands-on experience with agent frameworks (e.g., LangChain) and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), including real-world implementation and operational use.
  • Experience building APIs and data pipelines with a strong foundation in system design, testing, CI/CD, and cloud deployment.
  • Experience with prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and evaluation methods for improving real-world model performance.

Nice to Have
  • Experience with knowledge graphs, recommendation engines, or rules engines.
  • Familiarity with AI observability and monitoring tools.
  • Good understanding of data pipelines, and model evaluation in real-world decisioning systems.
  • Collaborate with backend engineers to deploy AI models as low-latency, highly available microservices in the system.

The pay range for this role is:
160,000 - 180,000 USD per year (San Mateo, CA)
