Job description

Our Golf Course is located in the beautiful city of Destin, FL which is nestled in the heart of Florida’s Emerald Coast. We are home to the best beaches in the world and known for our top ranked golf course. We are semi-private but also open to the public. Our Golf Academy provides the most intuitive golf lessons in Destin, powered by PGA Pros and Trackman Technology. We have premium Callaway Club Rentals Available.

Job Title: Pro Shop Attendant

Reports To: Head Golf Professional

Summary: The Pro Shop Attendant will provide first-contact customer interaction including booking tee times, checking in golfers, selling merchandise, and cleaning and stocking the Pro Shop.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Maintain effective communication with all team members to maintain a smooth, informed, safe, and consistent atmosphere within the Golf Shop.
  2. Understand the Club’s sales goals and assist in achieving targets for retail revenues.
  3. Assist in developing the staff schedule to ensure adequate coverage.
  4. Provide exceptional customer service; professionally respond to all guest concerns.
  5. Answer phones and make tee time reservations.
  6. Check in players.
  7. Keep the Golf Shop fully stocked, clean, and a welcome place for guests. Monitor inventory and place purchase orders.
  8. Provide customer service and check out for retail sales to customers.
  9. Handle cash and card transactions, ensure charges are accurate and return correct change to guests.
  10. Assist in tournament operations with Head Golf Professional and Assistant Golf Professional, if requested.
  11. Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); previous experience in customer service a must.

  • Passionate about hospitality.
  • Knowledge of the game of golf is an asset.
  • Multi-tasking, organizational and time management skills are critical.
  • Possess excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate professionally the creative ideas and services offered.
  • Ability to handle multiple guests and operational demands with a high degree of professionalism, operating often with time sensitive deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions quickly.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays.

Availability Open and operational seven days a week. Employees are required to be available to workdays, nights, weekends, and holidays.

License Requirements Valid driver’s license that has been in effect for at least three years, with no major violations and no more than two minor violations in the past three years.
