Job description

Overview

KVH is hiring a Staff Accountant in our Headquarters, Bristol, RI location. 

This is a supporting role on a global finance team where you will perform a variety of tasks across various finance functions. Responsibilities may include Sarbanes-Oxley documentation and compliance, coordination the quarterly and annual financial statement audits, performing monthly account reconciliations, ad-hoc financial analysis and process evaluation, and participating in accounting projects as necessary.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of the monthly financial close: performing monthly account reconciliations, ad-hoc financial analysis and process evaluation, inventory accounting, asset maintenance, and other projects as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all Sarbanes-Oxley documentation and review requirements including maintenance of all SOX narratives.
  • Assist with annual insurance policy renewal process
  • Provide general support to finance management team
  • Assist in operational improvement and/or accounting projects
  • Identify opportunities for improvement within financial processes and reconciliation procedures
  • Provide analytical and data reporting support
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred 
  • At least 2+ years' experience in accounting
  • Accounting and finance system experience preferred 
  • Demonstrated ability to comply with US GAAP
  • Strong project management skills, prioritization, and strategic planning skills
  • Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Team player: comfortable operating within a dynamic, complex organizational structure and able to be flexible and collaborate with team on different projects and needs
  • Working knowledge of information technology with an appreciation for how it can support accounting functions
