ACCOUNTANT (MID LEVEL)

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Accounting Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION Provide support to the Accounting Manager. Prepare journal entries, ensure accounting accuracy and completion of tasks to meet deadlines and uphold compliances and reporting in accordance with GAAP.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Review and manage accounts payable and receivable
  • Create timely and accurate accounting reports and present them to executives and senior management
  • Develop recommendations to optimize accounting systems and procedures and detect inaccuracies
  • Support and consult personnel on accounting control procedures
  • Support Payroll and Employee related tasks, activities

  • Supervise accounting team members plan their work and assign tasks
  • Take part in forecasting and financial standards setting processes
  • Participate in department’s goal setting activities and monthend and yearend close processes
  • Support tax audits (both internal and external) and tax returns
  • Support business processes and accounting policies and prepare corresponding documentation
  • Ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP requirements
  • Work together with accounting managers to optimize financial operations
  • Strong ability to work with current leadership and or departments within NCCM including IT, HR, Customer Service, etc.
  • Assist/gather documents as well as aid in special projects
  • Attend or watch training sessions and continuously improve skills to increase job performance and efficiency
  • Align with NCCM mission and culture
  • EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • High School diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Preferred) or a minimum of five years of verifiable employment in the field of Accounting (Required)
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk, and listen. The employee must be able to use a computer, phone, and standard office equipment daily.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Open and receptive to constructive feedback
  • Willingness to take on multiple projects, and multitask/prioritize workload based on business needs and or direction from Accounting Manager
  • Approachability and maintaining a positive attitude
  • 5+ years' experience of working as Accounting Supervisor or Senior Accountant
  • Experience with typical accounting procedures
  • Expert experience with general ledger functions and the monthend/yearend close process
  • Expert knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proficient experience with QuickBooks
  • Expert knowledge of financial accounting statements and business trends
  • Expert in MS Office Excel
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills٫ with accuracy and attention to detail
  • BS degree in Accounting٫ Finance or other relevant area or minimum 5 years’ experience with verifiable employment
