Job description

The Commercial Sales Representative is responsible for developing and growing a portfolio of commercial insurance clients by identifying business opportunities, building relationships with business owners, and providing tailored insurance solutions. This role focuses on prospecting, consulting, and selling commercial insurance products while delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining long-term client relationships.

Responsibilities

Prospect and generate new commercial insurance business through networking, referrals, cold calling, community involvement, and lead-generation activities.


Conduct needs-based consultations with business owners to assess risk exposures and recommend appropriate insurance coverage.


Present and sell commercial insurance products, including:

Business Owners Policies (BOP)

General Liability

Commercial Property

Commercial Auto

Workers' Compensation

Professional Liability

Umbrella Coverage


Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, referral partners, and local business organizations.


Prepare insurance quotes, proposals, and policy reviews.


Follow up on leads and maintain a consistent sales pipeline.


Review client accounts regularly to identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities.


Ensure compliance with company underwriting guidelines and state insurance regulations.

Active Property Casualty (PC) Insurance License or ability to obtain one.
