Job description

3D Exhibit Designer

Location: Ocoee, FL

Company: ColorCraft – Custom Trade Show Exhibits

About Us

ColorCraft is a leading designer and fabricator of custom trade show exhibits, known for turning creative ideas into high-impact brand environments. Since 2000, we've helped brands create memorable experiences through innovative design, precision fabrication, and exceptional client service.

We're proud to have been recognized as one of EXHIBITOR Magazine's Top 40 exhibit producers in North America, one of Event Marketer's Fab 50 exhibit fabricators, and one of Florida Trend's Best Companies to Work For, earning all three honors for two consecutive years.

Position Summary

ColorCraft is seeking a creative, motivated, and detail-oriented 3D Exhibit Designer to join our Creative team. Reporting directly to the Creative Director, you'll help transform client objectives into compelling three-dimensional exhibit concepts that balance creativity, functionality, manufacturability, and budget.

This role is ideal for someone with a passion for experiential design and a strong foundation in 3D modeling who enjoys solving real-world design challenges. Experience in the trade show and exhibit industry is strongly preferred, as successful candidates should understand the unique requirements of designing for live events, including engineering limitations, show regulations, attendee flow, and fabrication considerations.

You'll collaborate closely with sales, engineering, estimating, graphics, and production teams to develop exhibits that are not only visually impactful but also practical to build and install.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop creative 3D exhibit concepts based on client objectives, budgets, and branding requirements.
  • Produce high-quality, photo-realistic renderings and presentation materials for client proposals.
  • Create functional exhibit layouts that maximize attendee engagement while considering traffic flow and spatial planning.
  • Design exhibits that balance creativity with engineering feasibility, fabrication methods, transportation, and installation requirements.
  • Apply an understanding of venue regulations, line-of-sight rules, and exhibit height restrictions throughout the design process.
  • Design for both custom purchase exhibits and custom rental programs, utilizing existing inventory when appropriate.
  • Work closely with the Creative Director to refine concepts and incorporate client feedback.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure concepts can be successfully fabricated and installed.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining design quality.
  • Continue developing expertise in ColorCraft's design processes, software, and exhibit systems.

Who We’re Looking For

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Interior Design, Architecture, Environmental Design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating creative 3D design and visualization skills.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
  • Strong understanding of spatial planning, composition, and visual storytelling.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to balance creativity with budget, functionality, and project deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Willingness to learn Autodesk 3ds Max as part of ColorCraft's design workflow.

Preferred

  • 1–3 years of experience in exhibit design, experiential marketing, retail environments, architectural visualization, or related industries.
  • Experience designing custom trade show exhibits.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk 3ds Max.
  • Experience creating photo-realistic renderings and animations.
  • General understanding of structural engineering principles and fabrication methods.
  • Familiarity with exhibit engineering, manufacturing constraints, and installation processes.
  • Knowledge of custom rental exhibit systems versus fully custom exhibits.
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro or similar video editing software.
  • Understanding of common graphic production workflows, file formats, and software compatibility.

Why ColorCraft?

  • Stable, growing company celebrating over 25 years of success
  • Collaborative, team-oriented culture
  • Opportunity to work on custom projects for nationally recognized brands
  • Modern, in-house manufacturing facility with advanced equipment
  • Competitive salary and benefits package including medical, dental, vision, PTO, and 401(k) with company matching
