Insurance Assistance Program (IAP)

Location: Tennessee – Hybrid

Contract: Contract

Experience: Minimum 4 Years of Front-Facing Customer Service Experience

About the Role

The Tennessee Department of Health is seeking an Administrative Support Specialist to support the Ryan White Part B AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP), including the Insurance Assistance Program (IAP) and HIV Drug Assistance Program (HDAP). This role provides enrollment support, technical assistance, issue resolution, documentation, and stakeholder coordination for healthcare and public health program operations.

Responsibilities
  • Support Ryan White field case managers with IAP enrollment, eligibility, renewals, and program participation.

  • Provide technical assistance and resolve client and program-related issues affecting insurance coverage and medication access.

  • Collaborate with TDH staff, healthcare providers, vendors, case managers, and community partners to coordinate issue resolution.

  • Document client interactions, research findings, actions taken, resolutions, and follow-up activities.

  • Support quality assurance, data validation, program monitoring, workflow improvement, and stakeholder communication.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Health Administration, Public Health, Healthcare Management, or a closely related field.

  • Minimum 4 years of front-facing customer service experience, preferably in healthcare, public health, health insurance, or healthcare administration.

  • Experience working in healthcare administration or healthcare operations.

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using databases, case management systems, healthcare information systems, or electronic information systems.
