Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring cardiac drip titration skills and continuous telemetry monitoring on a night shift.

Details
  • Neuro/Stroke PCU floor treating adolescent to geriatric patients with respiratory, cardiac, and mixed medical conditions
  • Patient ratio of 1:4 on a 36-bed unit with an average daily census of 30
  • Requires titrating cardiac drips with continuous telemetry monitoring
  • Night shift, 4x12 hours, 19:00-7:30, with no block scheduling
  • Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
  • Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
  • No call requirements
  • Uses Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR systems
Requirements
  • Active RN license (GA or Compact) required at time of consideration
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience required
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Skills required include respiratory management (BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy care), IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and rapid response/code team protocols required
  • Titration of cardiac drips and insulin drips required
  • Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and feeding tube management required
  • Two supervisory references (Manager level or above) highly preferred at time of consideration
Additional Information
  • Provide PCU-level care to patients with cardiac, neurological, and respiratory conditions including CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, and traumatic brain injury
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, must be finalized at time of consideration with no requests permitted after offer or during orientation week
  • RTO blackout dates apply during Spring Break (April 4th-12th)
  • Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Previous Piedmont employees (perm, per diem, or FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
  • Travelers previously unable to return to a facility must complete one successful assignment outside Piedmont before rebooking
