The Branch Manager Trainee position is included in a workplace model that does not allow remote work.

As a Branch Manager Trainee, the essential responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for all daily operational functions of a branch location such as staff, security, audits, compliance, facilities maintenance and operational policies and procedures in the absence of the assigned branch manager.
  • Ensures that operating procedures are followed.
  • Maintains and updates knowledge relating to changes in Bank products, services and procedures while obtaining necessary management skills to manage a branch office and staff.
  • Provides guidance and training to staff related to job expectations, problems, exceptions and adjustments while functioning as manager.
  • Ensures that all employees are adequately trained and cross-trained in appropriate functions while functioning as manager.
  • Responsible for appearance and operation of the physical branch location during assignment at an office.
  • May participate in the hiring, and if necessary disciplinary action and dismissal, setting and monitoring annual and quarterly goals, coaching, career development, completing timely performance appraisals.
  • Performs branch reviews, surprise cash counts, and safe deposit box audits as assigned by Branch Administration.
  • Participates in the for inside sales coaching for a full service bank branch.
  • Generates new business to assist in meeting or exceeding sales, growth and profitability goals.
  • Assists with branch scheduling utilizing the designated staffing model to reduce inefficiencies and to meet the customer needs.
  • Generates, completes, and closes consumer loans.
  • Responsible for promoting and supporting Customer Solutions and other delivery channels.
  • Serves as back up for Personal Banker I/II duties and/or phone customer sales inquires.
  • Ensures that branch staff effectively matches customerโ€™s needs by referring and selling the appropriate products, services, and lending options that will benefit the customer and enhance their banking relationship while assigned to a branch.
  • Responsible for the orientation/mentoring of new team members.
  • Serves as liaison to the Service Center and Branch Administration department.
  • Confers with appropriate departments to resolve issues.
  • Maintain activities in civic and/or social organizations.

Assignments or training sessions may be held at various locations, such as Marion, Fishers, and Fort Wayne.

Qualifications Education Preferred

Bachelors or better in Business Administration.

Experience Required 2 years:

Previous experience as a Personal Banker

Preferred 2 years:

Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership position.

2 years:

Previous experience in a branch operations capacity.
