ROLE
We foster a diverse and inclusive work environment that promotes collaboration and career growth. Furlani Foods is seeking a(n) Quality Assurance Analyst. The Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of product quality and in accordance with industry regulations and company policies. This role ensures compliance with GMP, SQF, HACCP, FDA, and State regulations through auditing, verification of Certificates of Analysis (COAs), microbiological testing, and adherence to food safety protocols. The analyst will conduct case audits, mock recalls, self-inspections, and collaborate with operations, sanitation, and maintenance teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and uphold a culture of excellence. Must be available to work off shifts, including Saturdays, and be able to support both North and South plant locations.
KEY RESPONSIBLILITIES:
• Conduct audits, checks, and verification activities on key food safety and quality attributes.
• Work closely with Operations, Sanitation and Maintenance teams to resolve issues in real-time.
• Manage quality documentation and production data within QAD and other ERP/inventory management systems, including RedZone system editing, troubleshooting, role assignment, and maintaining system accountability across departments.
• Utilize Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and computer-based reporting tools to track defects, analyze trends, communicate findings, and support corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist in employee training and ensuring adherence to SOPs, regulatory, and customer requirements.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in quality assurance within the food industry.
• Bachelor's degree in food science, Microbiology, or a related field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations including HACCP, SQF standards, and microbiological testing methods.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and in group settings to perform root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively and professionally, including the ability to verbalize complex problems to diverse groups.
