Daikin Comfort Technologies Distribution, Inc. is seeking a professional, skilled individual for Branch Manager Trainee position for our Branch Operations group. The Branch Manager Trainee’s Responsibilities include taking direction from multiple sources to learn all aspects of the branch operations and Branch Manager position. This will include either shadowing or fulfilling the duties of each role within the branch up to and including graduation to the role of Branch Manager. The BMT is a strong team player, results oriented, has a dedication to excellence and a sense of urgency to achieve business objectives.

Position responsibilities may include:

  • Help the branch build its sales including the new business component by helping to maintain house accounts through active Dealer communication of new product launches, services, supplies, prices and new products sales and or discounts via outbound calls and in house counter discussions. Conduct outbound calls of existing and lost customer accounts. 
  • Maintain sales programs within assigned territory by keeping customers informed about available services, supplies, prices and new products.
  • Provide excellent customer service via walk-ins, phone calls and e-mails.
  • Execute all aspects of the sales function including order processing, purchase orders, payment processing, quotes and delivery dates - ensure accuracy of information being entered to guarantee correct item(s) are ordered.
  • Periodically reach out to customers to determine satisfaction with the organization, products and services
  • Maintain records and prepare reports on sales activities and manage inventory levels.
  • Expand knowledge of HVAC products and keep current with latest trends within the industry
  • Learn the roles and responsibilities of all functions and responsibilities within the branch including: CSRs/Inside Sales Representatives, Warehouse Associates, Drivers and Branch Manager.
    • CSR - Counter duties: Face to face interaction with customers, complete transactions using Mincron; etc.
    • Warehouse duties: safely operate a forklift, proper and safe loading/unloading and stacking techniques, filling customer orders – Will Call; etc.
    • Driver duties: delivery process, documentation procedures, DOT regulations and internal safety protocols
    • Branch Manager duties: Learn employee relations, timekeeping, inventory control, asset protection; etc.
  • Work positively with all levels of management and peers to ensure all areas and departments are kept up to speed and are working as an effective team to deliver the highest level of service possible.
  • Ensure branch showroom is adequately stocked, cleaned and organized as well as the warehouse and showroom and ensure there are no safety hazards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Ability to learn and demonstrate knowledge of the complete operations of the branch in a period of 8-12 months and be ready to move into a Branch Manager position when training is complete
  • Effective and high-quality Customer Service/Relationship management skills via walk-ins, phone, and email;
  • Positive, professional attitude, handling difficult customers with ability to diffuse negative situations
  • Developing rapport and effective listening skills including high level of professionalism – patience, poise and tact
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective organizational skills and time management skills including ability to prioritize and multi-task.

Experience:

  • 1 – 3 years customer service, retail or HVAC preferred

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business - Prefer degree in Business, Sales, HVAC related field OR equivalent experience
