General Summary:
Assists in the management of daily store operations to meet established revenue and margin objectives. Contributing to the DGR purpose, generating funds to help people in our community to live, work and thrive through housing, employment, and supportive services.
Supervisory responsibilities:
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains direct reports.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of their department.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Monitors the service, product levels and safety of the operation within budgeted expense to advance the Goodwill mission and brand.
  • Supervise proper cash controls and asset protection guidelines within the operation, ensuring employee adherence to policies and procedure.
  • Provides best in class customer service for internal and external customer coaching others to do the same.
  • Manages the production flow and staff productivity, working the process as needed, to maximize product output and the value of our donations.
  • Plans and organizes employee work schedules to meet business demands.
  • Ensures a continuous flow of new merchandise to the sales floor looks fresh and full, comparing the production output balance with necessary merchandise rotation.
  • Assists with production set up and material handling to efficiently produce merchandise to generate quality and quantity of product to meet projected sales objectives.
  • Partners with Talent Acquisition and Store Manager to proactively build their team.
  • Works with management staff to cultivate a collaborative team environment through motivation, training and coaching.
  • Utilizes coaching and documentation to strengthen positive performance or address performance issues, partnering with Store Manager.
  • Communicates effectively and professionally in written and verbal form with internal and external audiences.
  • Audits and trains employees on workplace safety and loss prevention policies and procedures.
  • Analyzes report data and other documentation proposing tactical plans to Store Manager as a concerted effort in process improvement.
  • Performs duties of Store Manager in their absence.
  • Consistently perform all duties within the framework of our Core Values.

Requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as good interpersonal skills to interact with employees and the public.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Independently makes decisions that positively impact store goals.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and ability to learn other software.

Travel Required: Occasional travel up to 10 %.
  • Travel to Madison for training is a required part of this position. Mileage reimbursement and paid training hours will be provided.

Required education and/or work experience:
  • 3+ years of progressively responsible retail supervisory experience.
  • High school diploma, post-secondary courses or degree preferred.

Salary Description
$55,000 per year
