Job description

Position Overview:

The Asset Protection Manager will lead security, loss prevention, investigations, and risk mitigation programs within a fast-paced distribution environment. This role is responsible for protecting company assets, inventory, employees, customers, and facilities while building a culture of accountability, awareness, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate is a hands-on asset protection leader who can assess risk, conduct investigations, influence site leadership, and deliver practical solutions that reduce loss and strengthen compliance across a 24/7 operation.

Location: Henrico, VA

Schedule: Monday- Friday, Day Shift, other hours may be required based on business needs

Compensation: $90,000-112,000

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead site asset protection, physical security, and loss prevention programs to reduce risk, shrink, theft, and operational loss.
  • Develop and execute security strategies, policies, audits, and corrective action plans that support a safe and secure facility.
  • Oversee CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, metal detection, and other security technologies to ensure effective program execution.
  • Conduct investigations involving theft, fraud, inventory discrepancies, policy violations, workplace misconduct, and other loss-related incidents.
  • Gather evidence, review surveillance, interview witnesses, document findings, and partner with Human Resources, Legal, and law enforcement as needed.
  • Partner with Safety and site leadership to support workplace violence prevention, emergency response, incident management, training, and preparedness planning.
  • Manage third-party security providers, screening processes, incident records, investigation documentation, and compliance requirements.
  • Analyze incident trends, security metrics, audit results, and operational data to identify root causes and drive continuous improvement.
  • Coach leaders and employees on security best practices, loss prevention awareness, and accountability expectations.
  • Serve as the site subject matter expert and trusted advisor for security, investigations, asset protection, and risk mitigation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Wicklander-Zulawski (WZ) Interview & Interrogation Certification.
  • Loss Prevention Qualified (LPQ) or Loss Prevention Certified (LPC) designation.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in asset protection, loss prevention, investigations, security operations, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in conducting investigations, managing security programs, and reducing operational loss.
  • Strong knowledge of CCTV systems, access control platforms, metal detection programs, and investigative technologies.
  • Experience working in warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, retail, or logistics environments.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to influence leaders and build effective partnerships across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data-driven investigative tools.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience overseeing contract security providers.
  • Experience supporting large-scale distribution, fulfillment, or 3PL operations.
