Main responsibilities:

The Safety Supervisor is responsible for leading the Distribution Center's safety, food safety, risk management, asset protection, regulatory compliance, and business continuity programs. This role develops, implements, and monitors initiatives that prevent injuries, protect product integrity, safeguard company assets, and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

Working closely with operations, maintenance, transportation, third-party service providers, and regulatory agencies including OSHA, FDA, and state authorities, the supervisor identifies risks, drives corrective actions, and fosters a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. 

  • Lead the facility's risk management programs, including workplace safety, food safety, regulatory compliance, asset protection, emergency preparedness, and business continuity initiatives.
  • Analyze incident, injury, claims, food safety, and operational data to identify trends, evaluate risk exposure, and develop corrective and preventive actions.
  • Partner with operations and support departments to conduct investigations, risk assessments, audits, inspections, and compliance reviews while ensuring timely resolution of identified issues.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and applicable federal, state, and local regulations, serving as the facility liaison with agencies including OSHA, FDA, and other regulatory authorities.
  • Develop, deliver, and monitor training programs that promote safe work practices, regulatory compliance, food safety standards, and operational excellence.
  • Oversee workers' compensation, return-to-work programs, claims management, and coordination with insurance carriers, medical providers, and third-party administrators.
  • Manage food safety management systems, sanitation programs, pest management activities, audit readiness, and corrective action processes to ensure product integrity and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate product recall and market withdrawal activities, including product containment, traceability verification, disposition controls, regulatory reporting, and documentation.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and support to foster a culture of accountability, safety, food safety, and continuous improvement throughout the distribution center. 
     

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

  • Associate degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Food Safety, Environmental Sciences, Business, or a related field, and/or 3-5 years of relevant experience in safety, risk management, food safety, supply chain, warehouse operations, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, FDA, FSMA, workers' compensation, environmental, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Experience conducting investigations, risk assessments, audits, inspections, and corrective action management.
  • Professional certifications such as ASP, CSP, ARM, GSP, HACCP, PCQI, SQF Practitioner, Internal Food Safety Auditor, or equivalent safety and food safety certifications preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, training, and analytical skills with the ability to influence all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and data analysis tools.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel as business needs require.
     

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT

  • Work is performed in both a temperature-controlled office environment and a distribution center environment with varying temperatures and conditions.
  • Position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, and move throughout the facility for extended periods while conducting observations, inspections, audits, and investigations.
  • Regular use of computers, mobile devices, telephones, and other office equipment is required.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, and lifting may be necessary to perform job duties and evaluate workplace conditions.
  • Limited travel may be required for training, meetings, and other business needs.
