Position Highlights
Based at the Arizona Student Unions and its satellite locations, the Asset Protection Associate helps maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, students, and visitors. Responsibilities include loss prevention, conducting foot patrols, monitoring CCTV systems, responding to emergencies, and supporting compliance with established safety and security procedures. The position may also perform safety inspections, including checks for hazardous conditions, fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and automated external defibrillators (AEDs), to help ensure a safe campus environment. This position requires evening, weekend and holiday work.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conduct
    regular foot patrols of Student Unions grounds, including all outlets and
    buildings, to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Monitor
    CCTV systems for security purposes, including detecting suspicious activity, overseeing
    vendor and delivery operations, and identifying theft risks.
  • Collaborate
    with the Loss Prevention Specialist and leadership to design and execute
    initiatives aimed at reducing external shrinkage.
  • Accurately
    document security incidents and work with law enforcement to address cases of
    theft and fraud promptly and effectively.
  • Partner
    with management to develop and deliver employee training programs on theft
    prevention, enhancing staff awareness and improving the management and
    reporting of loss incidents.
  • Support
    the outlets with inventory procedures and best practices.
  • Respond
    to building system alarms, including fire and mechanical alerts, ensuring
    timely and appropriate action.
  • Provide
    security services for events held in or near the unit as needed.
  • Submit
    maintenance work orders to address safety hazards or items in need of repair.
  • Perform
    routine safety inspections on equipment.
  • Deliver
    customer service and concierge services to the campus, including:
  • Greet,
    welcome, and provide exceptional customer service to all individuals
  • Provide
    way-finding and other general informational support.
  • Perform
    door assists and other security related escorts on campus.
  • Additional
    duties as assigned.

Notice of Availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report
In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.Thesereports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
