Job description

Asset Protection Associate

The Asset Protection Associate assists the store in achieving shortage reduction metrics. This role assists with case investigations, with a focus on identifying and preventing internal and external AP incidents. The Asset Protection Associate leads store policy knowledge and ensures proper execution of action plans, security procedures, and safety programs. This is an hourly position.

What You Will Do

  • Demonstrate ownership and initiative in achieving personal goals, store objectives, and daily priorities.
  • Monitor store activity through observation, camera systems, and floor walks to identify and prevent incidents of theft, fraud, and dishonesty.
  • Assist with internal, external, and organized retail crime incidents in accordance with case procedures, company standards, and applicable laws. Follow proper protocols for apprehensions, and accurately document and report all incidents.
  • Support leadership with retrieving and reviewing documentation and reports used in investigations.
  • Build strong working relationships with local law enforcement to support collaboration and successful case resolution.
  • Support education of store team in asset protection, emergency response, and safety programs to enhance storewide compliance.
  • Promptly report any outages, risks, or safety concerns with store systems.
  • Maintain confidentiality, safeguard sensitive information, and demonstrate composure, understanding the importance to business continuity and investigations.
  • Leverage training tools, use resources, and embrace feedback to build knowledge of asset protection processes and procedures and strengthen performance. Stay informed of products, promotions, policies, and store events to enhance execution.
  • Embody the values of the Asset Protection Mission Statement by protecting the company's profitability, serving as a change agent, and contributing to a store culture of teamwork, collaboration, trust, and accountability.
