JOB SUMMARY
Job Profile Summary
This position will be responsible for the management of existing customer relationships, new customer origination, marketing of terminal services, and development of projects for the Refined Products Galena Park Terminal. The development of projects include terminal expansion opportunities, new connectivity, and/or terminal efficiency projects. An emphasis on collaboration, internal and external communication, finding creative solutions, and a focus on excellent customer service is desired. Maintaining existing customer relationships and developing prospective customer relationships are critical components of the role.
A prior background in midstream asset operations, engineering, scheduling, and/or commercial with 5-10+ years of experience is preferred. Also, experience with customer communication, negotiations, economic modeling, or asset marketing is preferred. Come join a team that is motivated, hardworking, and driven to go above and beyond.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Understanding the asset's Profit and Loss statements
  • Research and evaluate existing contracts to determine profitability and potential liabilities
  • Identify and evaluate storage and/or throughput opportunities that support strategic business plans
  • Lead responsibilities in complex negotiations with potential and existing customers
  • Develop relationships with potential customers and maintain effective customer relations with existing customer base
  • Participate in development of projects to support business strategies
  • Prepare economic models, perform calculations, and conduct analyses to evaluate new terminal connectivity, optimization, and organic growth projects
  • Develop contacts with multiple players within the Refined Products value chain (refiners, marketers, traders, suppliers, c-stores) to gather information about new or existing business prospects
  • Evaluate the information gathered from research work to determine its applicability to our business operations and utilize this information to help formulate our overall strategic business plans
  • Research industry publications to evaluate and monitor customers and competitors and explore potential new business development opportunities in our core area of operations
  • Interact and coordinate with marine logistics, engineering, operations, contract administration, accounting, liquids marketing, asset integrity, and other stakeholders regarding current contracts and operations as well as future opportunities
  • Develop, interpret, and/or prepare information and correspondence including but not limited to:
    • Policies and Procedures
    • Contracts and Agreements
    • Internal and External Correspondence
    • Proposals to Customers
    • Projects and Business Development

  • Understand asset performance to identify business drivers, trends, and forecast future terminal revenues
  • Understand existing contracts and work with logistics and accounting to ensure accurate billing
  • Obtain a working understanding of marine logistics to help speak to customer concerns or operational items and identify opportunities to optimize business flow

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent formal education to include a combination of courses such as finance, accounting, engineering, business management, or job-related experience

Work Experience
  • 5 or more years related work experience in the energy sector preferred
  • 1-3 years related work experience in marketing and/or business development role preferred
