Job description

Our client is seeking a full-time, motivated, and ambitious individual to join their team as an Associate. Candidates will be responsible for mitigating risks and maximizing property values on existing portfolio investments.

The ideal candidate will spend a majority of the time communicating with borrowers, analyzing financial information, reviewing legal documents, and completing thorough reports on outstanding assets. Each candidate should be an independent self-starter with a strong analytical background, exemplary organizational and multitasking skills, excellent attention to detail, and effective verbal/written communications skills. Compensation is competitive, based upon the candidate's experience level and will include a discretionary, performance-based bonus.

Typical Responsibilities

* Monitor progress of borrowers' business plans, including financial or technical covenants

* Serve as the point of contact for borrowers and vendors on loans

* Review legal documents and draft legal notices for loan investments

* Analyze property financials and construction progress against baselines

* Coordinate with the servicing department to ensure timely payments

* Work with outside counsel to enforce loan documents and covenants

* Evaluate and author reports on existing investments in the portfolio

* Interact with consultants to monitor assets and perform site inspections on investments

Desired Skills & Experience

* 1-5 years of asset management experience with the ability to perform several tasks concurrently with poise and professionalism

* Real estate, asset management, or construction management experience strongly preferred.

* Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines

* Outstanding ability to effectively articulate complex concepts both verbally and in writing

* Comfortable with a changing, fast-paced environment, with the ability to learn new processes and improve on existing processes

* Mathematical proficiency to review and maintain construction/improvement budgets, analyze financial information for properties, and complete reports for outstanding investments

* Bachelor's degree required, Finance, Engineering, or Real Estate focus preferred
