Assessment and Evaluation Specialist AnticipatedJOB STATUS: OPEN POSTING DATE: 05/28/2026 CLOSING DATE: 06/03/2026 04:00 PM POSTING NUMBER: 053881 LOCATION: Admin School Improvement & Assessment885 POSITION TITLE: Assessment and Evaluation Specialist Anticipated
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Coordinator of Assessment with the training for and coordinating of local and state assessments.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Assist in the coordination of local and state assessment programs as directed.
  2. Responsible for working with campus leadership in supporting campus testing coordinators.
  3. Assist with the registration and reporting of state assessments.
  4. Provide training and support to campus testing coordinators, instructional coaches, and leadership teams in the areas of state and local assessments.
  5. Work with campus testing coordinators to ensure that student assessment data is accurate and updated.
  6. Stay informed of best practices for student assessment.
  7. Lead efforts to ensure that compliance requirements for state assessments and any irregularities are reported in a timely manner.
  8. Coordinate and communicate the Credit By Exam registration process to campus personnel and parents.
  9. Design and conduct professional development activities at the district and campus level in support of local and state assessments.
  10. Work collaboratively with campuses and departments to identify areas of improvement and provide support in assessment creation and delivery.
  11. Collaborate on and design assessment trainings for district and campus administration.
  12. Assist with the development and communication of the district assessment calendar.
  13. Assist with state audits and irregularity investigations.
  14. Support the Coordinator of Assessment with communication to and from appropriate agencies.
  15. Attend appropriate conferences and training to improve student achievement through planning, data analysis, and assessment.
  16. Participate in the selection, design, and implementation of data and assessment management programs and processes.
  17. Serve on district committees as assigned.
  18. Maintain confidentiality of information.
  19. Maintain regular attendance.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of 3 years teaching experience
  • Minimum of 2 years campus or district-level leadership experience
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
  • Master's degree or equivalent work experience with assessment
  • Valid Texas teaching certification

Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Knowledge of the state assessment systems
  • Skill in presenting and training users effectively
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of privileged and sensitive information
  • Ability to comprehend complex systems and technical information and explain effectively to a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to perform duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness, and work with minimum supervision
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, technical and complex assessment data and concepts to a varied audience, utilizing tact and diplomacy
  • Skill in the use of Google and Microsoft Productivity software such as spreadsheet, presentation, and word processing documents
