Job Overview:

Pay Range: $65hr - $70hr

Requirement/Must Have:

  • 8 to 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Java (Java 8+) and Python development.
  • Deep understanding of AWS cloud architecture and hands-on experience with core AWS services.
  • Experience modernizing mainframe applications, including analysis, refactoring, migration, and system decomposition.
  • Strong background in modernizing legacy Java applications (monolithic to microservices).
  • Solid understanding of microservices, RESTful APIs, and event-driven systems.
  • Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with CI/CD, version control, and automation.
  • Strong problem solving, architectural reasoning, and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, assess, and understand complex legacy systems, including mainframe applications and legacy Java applications.
  • Lead the end-to-end modernization journey—from Client, planning, and architecture design to implementation and deployment.
  • Refactor or rewrite legacy components using modern Java frameworks, Python, microservices, and event driven architectures.
  • Design and implement cloud native solutions using AWS services such as Lambda, EC2, ECS/EKS, IAM, Secrets Manager, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, Step Functions, CloudFormation for IaC, Client , Honeycomb.
  • Build and deploy CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, or similar.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architecture, infrastructure, DevOps, and QA.
  • Implement best practices for performance optimization and cost efficiency.
  • Document system designs, architecture decisions, and operational procedures.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members working on modernization initiatives.
