Job description

Summary:
The Assembler I performs general assembly of mechanical and/or electronic subassemblies and products. This role involves using hand tools and machines, and ensuring quality standards are met.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Use tools to make or repair parts and products.
• Interpret technical documents, such as diagrams, schematics, blueprints, or other verbal or written instructions.
• Work with other members of the line or group in order to assemble products at takt rate.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Identify any defective items and handle according to established procedures.
• Take precision measurements to ensure perfect fit of components.
• Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies.
• Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Organize and maintain raw materials and work in process within the work area.
• Implements and maintains department policies and standards.
• Other Duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• 1-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
• Strong written communication and verbal skills.
• Ability to use reason to solve problems as they arise and identify areas for improvement.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to multi-task and to retain skills and knowledge.
• Technical knowledge and ability to read blueprints and drawings.
• Ability to work both individually and in groups.
• Apply good judgment and follow directions.
• Proven ability to multi-task, set project priorities, establish department/discipline goals and objectives for self.
• Ability to use a computer, including Microsoft applications (i.e. Excel, Word, PPT, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to either stand or sit for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, push, pull, reach, grab, turn, twist, and/or stoop.
• Ability to grab small parts or hand tools with hands.
• Proven ability to multi-task, set project priorities, goals and objectives for self.
• Ability to effectively & professionally communicate with co-workers, customers and vendors.
