Avionics Technician - Engine Harness


Job Description

An Avionics Technician (Engine Harness) is responsible for the installation, inspection, testing, repair, and maintenance of electrical wiring systems and harnesses that connect aircraft engine components to avionics and control systems. This role ensures that all engine-related electrical systems operate safely, reliably, and in compliance with aviation standards.

Responsibilities

  • Install and route engine wiring harnesses according to engineering drawings and schematics 
  • Perform continuity, insulation resistance, and functional testing of harness systems 
  • Troubleshoot and repair faulty wiring, connectors, and terminals 
  • Interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and maintenance manuals 
  • Inspect harnesses for: 
    • Wear and chafing 
    • Heat damage 
    • Corrosion 
  • Perform crimping, soldering, splicing, and pinning of wires and connectors 
  • Ensure proper shielding and grounding of engine electrical systems 
  • Maintain compliance with: 
    • FAA / EASA regulations 
    • Company quality and safety procedures 
  • Document all maintenance and repair activities 

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of:      
    • Electrical systems and circuits 
    • Aircraft wiring interconnection systems (EWIS) 
  • Proficiency with tools: 
    • Multimeters 
    • Wire strippers/crimpers

  • Ability to read and interpret:
