Position: Assembler

Start Rate: $20.70

Job Description

Assembler Essential Functions:

  • Ability to use independent judgment, in visual checks to determine if process is within control
  • Restock workstation with necessary parts and equipment
  • Conduct quality checks as indicated in the Control Plan, and complete the appropriate paperwork
  • Perform assembly operations per work instructions
  • Weigh and pack finished goods
  • Transport boxes accepted by quality to the end of the press/machine row
  • Certify parts from hold cage
  • Review work instructions and quality alerts daily at assigned presses/machines to assure proper part review, and sign-off on new quality alerts as needed.
  • Attend shift meetings
  • Notify supervisor, process tech, operator, and/or inspector of any part or equipment defects that affect quality of the parts and/or hinder the ability to do the job required.
  • Notify process tech, supervisor, operator, and/or inspector when press alarms and/or stops running for any reason, or if scheduled press is not running.
  • Rewind a variety of terminals, as defined by product codes
  • Package and label properly
  • Visually inspect equipment to ensure proper operating condition.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area.

Job Requirements:

  • Perform other duties as required by supervisor
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Knowledge of arithmetic is required
  • Basic skills in oral and written communication
  • Comply with all Environment, Health, and Safety {EH&S} rules and procedures.

Assembly Evaluations: Assembly trainee evaluation will be made on a weekly basis. Training will follow the training plan. There is a 60 day qualification period.

Working Conditions:

  • Degree of Physical Demands (Strength) usually associated with this classification: Exerting up to 25 pounds of force frequently, or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Exerting 25-50 pounds occasionally. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for sedentary work. Involves walking, standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, lifting frequently, with occasional crouching.
  • Environmental conditions (Physical Surroundings) usually associated with this classification: The associate is subject to environmental conditions common to a plant environment, including cramped conditions between presses and enclosures. Some exposure to loud noise and oil. Activities occur inside and outside
  • Environmental conditions (Hazards) usually associated with this classified: Exposure to noise, possible cuts, blisters, and pinch points.
