A-1 Industries is seeking experienced Truss Assembly production workers, Roof Leaders, Roof Assistants, Sawyers, Pickers, Catchers, Stackers to Join a fast-paced production team building high-quality roof and floor trusses. The Truss Assembly Worker is responsible for assembling and securing wood trusses using production equipment and hand tools while ensuring quality, accuracy, and efficiency throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lift, carry, and position lumber
  • Align cut materials in truss jigs
  • Place/remove metal plates and secure trusses
  • Adjust/correct plates as needed
  • Inspect for quality (plate placement & lumber grade)
  • Operate roller presses and machinery
  • Assemble, label, and bundle trusses
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility

None

Required Skills & Experience

  • Truss assembly experience required
  • Ability to read tape measure
  • Ability to read production layouts
  • Operate hand tools (e.g., hammers) and production machinery

Required Education

  • High School graduate preferred but not required

Work Environment

This job operates in a manufacturing site environment. Exposure to inclement weather and loud noise, all work will be performed outside.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Safety glasses and safety footwear must be worn at all times.
  • Auditory and fall protection applicable when required.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job the employee will be required to frequently stand on their feet for extended periods of time. Must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 100 lbs. It requires close vision, and depth perception three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships. Must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, talk and hear.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, non-exempt salaried position, and typical work hours are based on assigned shift. Overtime will be required as needed to meet our customer needs.

  • Day shift: Monday - Friday, 5:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., Saturday, 5:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

  • Shift Differential: Additional $3.00 per hour for Night ShiftMandatory Saturdays and overtime; contingent upon business needs.
