Job Brief
Kable Workforce Solutions is hiring a Assembly Team Leader for our client. This job is responsible for supporting daily production operations within the assembly cell while leading team members to achieve quality, productivity, and on-time delivery goals. This role works closely with Production, Quality, and Materials teams to coordinate workflow, monitor production performance, and support continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
 
What’s a Typical Day Like?
  • Lead by example with a positive attitude, strong communication, and dependable attendance.
  • Assist the Assembly Supervisor with planning and scheduling daily production activities based on current and incoming workloads.
  • Verify manufacturing order quantities for accuracy and ensure jobs are completed in full unless otherwise directed.
  • Report daily in-process order status to the Assembly Supervisor and accurately predict cell output within a half-day timeframe.
  • Communicate regularly with the Assembly Supervisor and Production Manager to maintain production schedules and support 100% on-time delivery goals.
  • Coordinate staffing needs with the Assembly Supervisor to ensure proper production coverage.
  • Communicate daily with material handlers regarding priorities for job setup and material availability.
  • Train and develop assembly employees to improve production efficiency and skill levels.
  • Monitor rejected boards and identify failure trends; communicate findings to appropriate support personnel.
  • Monitor scrap and notify the Assembly Supervisor of recurring issues.
  • Ensure scrap materials are properly identified, sorted, and submitted to the Lead Material Handler.
  • Recommend and support process improvements to enhance quality and productivity.
  • Promote a quality-focused environment where downstream operations are treated as internal customers.
  • Communicate production goals and daily plans to employees to encourage teamwork and accountability.
  • Assist employees with job verification and production startups.
  • Verify in-process production throughout the shift for accuracy and quality compliance.
  • Perform time studies, track run times, and communicate productivity targets to employees.
  • Hold team members accountable for meeting established production goals.
  • Coordinate sorting activities for rejected lots within the responsible production cell.
  • Maintain production documentation and support operational efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized production cell.
  • Participate in weekly production area inspections with management and supervisory staff.
  • Follow all company safety and operational procedures
 
What Are the Requirements of the Job?
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of manufacturing or assembly leadership experience required.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to gather information, solve problems, and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong focus on quality, productivity, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work effectively with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Materials teams.
  • Dependable, motivated, and able to lead by example.
  • Training will be provided on production equipment and processes as needed.
  • Work performed in a manufacturing environment with frequent interaction with team members.
  • Requires prolonged standing and sitting.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, stretching, reaching, and handling of small components.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required for assembly operations.
  • Good vision required for detailed production tasks and inspections.
  • Occasional lifting required.

  • Training will be provided on company-specific equipment and production systems.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
