Job description

Job Title: Production Associate
Location: Lansing, MI
Shift: Monday - Thursday 6:00AM - 4:30PM
Pay Rate: $17 starting, $1 Increase at hire in (90 days)

Position Overview:
Perform duties to process or prepare any range of components or subassemblies, where work is repetitive with some change in products, parts, components, dimension, and configuration, working within the limits of prescribed routines and making minor decisions.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Work from production work orders, checklists, prints, instructions, procedures, and similar documentation.

  • Evaluate assembly drawings, bills of material, or prints to ensure required materials meet specifications and are available for all steps of assembling and fabricating parts and units. Visually inspect parts for defects and communicate discrepancies to the Production Lead.

  • Fit, align, and adjust parts on any production line as assigned, following prescribed processes to produce subassemblies for air movement equipment. Fasten parts together using bolts, screws, rivets, or other approved fasteners.

  • Ensure proper operation and free movement of finished products and make required adjustments following prescribed procedures. Measure finished components, subassemblies, or units to ensure compliance with standards.

  • Perform production work safely and efficiently, maintaining a clean and orderly work area.

  • Perform or assist with operations as required to maintain workflow and meet schedules and quality requirements.

  • Participate in meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain knowledge of new developments, requirements, and policies.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Promote and support all MPS objectives, including 5S and Continuous Improvement.

  • Promote a positive work environment at all times.

  • Consistently operate in compliance with all safety rules and requirements.

  • Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
