Job description

  • Order picking: Must be able to drive an order picker. Includes prepping the windshield or body glass crate for putting the glass into. The use of an RF Modulated scanner to select and pick orders. Also, includes printing a content label to apply to the crate once completed.
  • Packaging glass: Opening a crate or metal rack with a drill, saw, or cutting the crate open. Includes the manual building and assembly of the box to put the glass into, filling the box with dunnage or foam, taping the box or container with a tape gun, applying a label to the box or envelope, and stacking onto a pallet.
  • Quality auditing: Includes counting all parts in the crate or shipping container to make sure the quantity matches the content label, and then closing the crate to be stapled, banded or shrink wrapped for shipment. Also, includes auditing all containers and making sure that all of the serial numbers and quantities match the container list for the truck load.
  • Loading/Unloading trailers: Must be able to drive a forklift. Includes inspecting the trailer you are going to load or unload. Also includes lifting, moving, and stacking crates or racks of glass into or taking out of trailers. Using an RF Modulated scanner to scan each container to the trailer or warehouse location. Requires frequent use of nail guns, crow bars, hammers, and other hand or pneumatic tools.
  • Replenishment/Transfer of Glass: Must be able to drive a forklift or standup reach truck. Includes transferring parts from one location to another using an RF Modulated scanner. Also, includes opening and preparing the crates to be put in the pick racks. Requires frequent use of crow bars, hammers, and other hand or power tools.
