CNC Operator

Spurs Marine Manufacturing, Inc. has been a trusted provider of marine safety and protection systems since 1981. Our innovative Line & Net Cutter Systems are installed on a wide range of vessels worldwide, including US Coast Guard, Navy, and commercial ships, safeguarding vessels from costly propeller entanglement.

We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Entry Level CNC Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating various CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce high-quality components. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to develop their skills in machining, blueprint reading, and industrial equipment operation within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machining equipment such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and CNC presses with precision and attention to detail
  • Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and production documents to ensure accurate fabrication
  • Set up machines using tooling, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to meet specifications
  • Perform basic CNC programming and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) programming to optimize machine operation
  • Conduct dimensional measurements and quality control checks using GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards to verify product accuracy
  • Maintain safety standards in production areas by adhering to safety protocols and proper handling of industrial equipment
  • Troubleshoot minor machine issues and perform routine maintenance to ensure continuous operation

Experience

  • Prior factory or manufacturing facility experience is preferred.
  • CNC Basic knowledge preferred.
  • Familiarity with shop math, basic math skills, and mechanical blueprint interpretation is advantageous
  • Experience with industrial equipment troubleshooting and assembly line processes is a plus
  • Knowledge of CAD software such as SolidWorks is beneficial but not mandatory
  • Ability to handle materials safely using hand tools and materials handling equipment such as forklifts (certification preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on precision measurement and quality assurance standards
