Job description

Description

We're looking for a hands-on Industrial Maintenance Technician to keep our highly automated, state-of-the-art glass production equipment running safely and efficiently. You'll be the person the line counts on - diagnosing issues fast, performing preventive maintenance that stops breakdowns before they start, and keeping production moving in a facility that supports the growing solar industry. 


 Shift: 12-hour shifts on a 2-2-3 rotating schedule - Day (6:00 AM-6:00 PM) or Night (6:00 PM-6:00 AM)
Training: Paid training period, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM for approximately 4 weeks 

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated production equipment: tempering furnace/laminators, automated cutting systems, automated insulating equipment, and spacer forming/assembly equipment
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on production and assembly equipment to maximize uptime and equipment lifespan
  • Respond promptly to unplanned downtime and breakdown calls during shift
  • Diagnose faults across mechanical, pneumatic, industrial electrical, and controls systems using multimeters and diagnostic tools
  • Ensure all work complies with OSHA and plant safety standards, including proper PPE and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures
  • Document all work orders accurately in CMMS and maintain detailed maintenance records
  • Initiate purchase requisitions promptly to keep critical spare parts stocked
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to improve equipment reliability

Required Skills & Knowledge

  • Hands-on industrial maintenance experience (mechanical and/or electrical) in a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of pneumatics, industrial electrical systems, controls (PLC/HMI exposure a plus), and mechanical processes
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and multimeters
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with CMMS or similar maintenance tracking systems preferred

  • Associate degree or vocational certificate in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or a related trade preferred - equivalent hands-on experience or military maintenance background welcomed
  • Ability to work the rotating 12-hour 2-2-3 schedule, including weekends per rotation
