Build what powers the world

Join Siemens’ Electrification & Automation team in Wendell, NC and help assemble the power distribution equipment that keeps industries and communities energized.

Role snapshot
  • Focus: Mechanical and electrical assembly for energy distribution systems (sub-assemblies, final assemblies, panels, and large power cables).
  • Documentation: Interpret BOMs, layouts, wire lists, and schematics to build accurately and independently.
  • Quality & Safety: Apply specified torque with calibrated tools; practice top-tier workmanship; follow EHS standards; suggest process improvements.
  • Data & Delivery: Record production transactions precisely and complete work per documented instructions.
  • Tooling: Confidently use hand, power, pneumatic, and battery-operated tools; measure with tape measures and gauges.
  • Team: Collaborate closely, support aftermarket orders, and perform other duties as assigned.
Shifts & compensation
  • 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
  • 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
  • Pay: Mechanical Assembly: $19.00/hr | Electrical Assembly: $20.36/hr

Note: For 2nd shift positions, training will begin on 1st shift prior to transitioning to 2nd shift, with an additional $1.50 shift differential for 2nd shift.

Minimum qualifications Mechanical assembly
  • Lift up to 50 lbs on occasion.
  • English proficiency for reading, writing, and verbal communication.
Electrical assembly
  • 1+ year in mechanical assembly or related mechanical work.
  • 1+ years of commercial/industrial wiring.
  • English proficiency (read/write/speak).
  • Fluent with schematics, layouts, and wire lists with limited supervision.
  • Comfortable with standard hand/power tools, wiring tools, and precise tape-measure use.
Preferred
  • Understanding of electrical clearances.
  • Associate degree or technical training in a relevant field.
  • Track record of quality and productivity.
