Job description

Global Power Componentsis a privately held, financially sound,growingmanufacturer of UL heavy gauge steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures and modular metal enclosures for housing fully equipped electrical distribution and control equipment.
Global Power Components is seeking aSenior Quality Control Inspector. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with strong mechanical aptitude and proven experience conducting comprehensive inspections on mechanical systems and integrated electrical equipment.
Shift Details
Openings available on1st and 2nd shift
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Perform inspections on mechanical and electrical assemblies to ensure compliance with internal and customer specifications.
  • Ensure all quality documentation is complete, accurate, and properly maintained.
  • Coordinate with the Quality Control team to ensure progress and meet production and shipping timelines.
  • Identify and escalate quality issues that may impact delivery or product performance.
  • Maintain visibility of product status throughout the QC and production process.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and other departments to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Participatein corrective actionsfor non-conformances and recurring defects.
  • Support training efforts and ensure staff are informed of current quality standards and procedures.
  • Participate in audits, process reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in updating SOPs, training materials, and inspection protocols as needed.
Daily Activity Breakdown
  • 10%Part and component inspection
  • 80%Assembly and final product inspection
  • 10%Process Improvements, CA/PA, Data process/analysis/reporting, and cross-functional collaboration
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in quality control or inspection in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in power generation, diesel systems, or enclosure manufacturing preferred.
  • Weld knowledge is preferred, especially weld inspection
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading, mechanical drawings, and customer-supplied manuals.
  • The ability to read and interpret measurements using rulers, calipers, and other precision tools. Skills in MS Excel and Word; experience withERP systems(e.g., Epicor) and SharePoint is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience with Pareto charts, defect tracking, and process improvement initiatives is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to write clear and effectivecorrective actionsand follow through on resolution.
