Job Description
AMF Bakery Systems is seeking a motivated and self-driven Control Assembly Technician. This role is responsible for building control panels, junction boxes, and wiring machines within the Assembly operation. The technician must be able to work with or without drawings and schematics and may occasionally perform minor mechanical rework to complete assigned tasks.
Job Duties (include but are not limited to):
  • Interpret and follow verbal, written, and drawn instructions
  • Assemble electrical components onto back panels and equipment
  • Wire components according to specifications and standards
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and functional work area
  • Complete tasks within established timeframes while meeting quality and safety requirements (including lockout/tagout procedures)
  • Report assembly progress and recommend countermeasures to maintain or recover schedules
  • Identify and suggest productivity and quality improvements to supervisors and engineers
  • Drilling and fabricating metal

Requirements
  • Trade school education with an electrical/control wiring focus preferred
  • Relevant electrical assembly experience
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and written instructions
  • Strong electrical aptitude, including proper use of NEC code and wiring techniques
  • Proficiency with hand, electrical, and pneumatic tools, and knowledge of proper tool selection
  • Must provide own basic tools, including:
    • Box/open-end/socket wrench sets
    • Allen wrench set
    • Screwdriver set
    • Tap handles
    • Pliers
    • Combination square
    • 9" level
    • Wire strippers and side cutters
    • Tape measure
    • Standard and metric tools recommended
    • Lockable toolbox recommended
  • Required PPE: safety glasses and steel-toed safety shoes
  • Required attire: long pants and sleeved shirt (short sleeves acceptable)
  • Ability to stand on concrete floors for at least eight hours and perform physical tasks such as kneeling, squatting, bending, and lifting
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to diagnose and repair electrical issues
  • Ability to safely operate a fork truck

Working Environment
  • Manufacturing facility environment (approximately 95% indoors / 5% outdoors)
  • Heated facility in winter; not air-conditioned in summer
  • Occasionally loud environment; hearing protection provided and required where posted
