Senior Assembly Associate / Assembly Line Caption

1st Shift Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00AM - 3:30PM or until work is completed (hours may vary based on business needs)

What Assembly contributes to Cardinal Health
Manufacturing is responsible for cost of production and maintenance activities including process improvement, supply chain management, quality assurance, employee safety and engagement, and environmental commitment.
Assembly performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production to put together component parts to make assemblies, sub-assemblies or completed units, using standard operating procedures. May conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications.


Job Summary
The Senior Assembly Associate works on the manufacturing production line and is responsible for the successful assembly of products using commonly used concepts, processes and procedures. This job serves as the Team Captain and ensures that the line is meeting all necessary production, safety and quality requirements. The Senior Assembly Associate monitors single line operations and promptly escalates issues to necessary parties. This job ensures consistent workflow of the manufacturing line and is responsible for QRA compliance and team member training.
Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate daily assembly production records and ensure timely data entry into performance systems.

  • Ensure efficient manufacturing line workflow, including staffing, line setup, and changeovers.

  • Operate machinery/equipment to install components on products along the assembly line.

  • Monitor and enforce safety and compliance standards for both individual and team activities.

  • Escalate safety, compliance, or operational issues to supervisors for resolution.

  • Train and onboard new team members using standardized processes and safety guidelines.

  • Delegate tasks, assign responsibilities, and drive work to completion with accountability.

  • Communicate daily targets, expectations, and responsibilities to the team.

  • Support operational success by providing assembly expertise and addressing team questions.

  • Promote high performance standards by modeling expected behaviors and reinforcing procedures.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and assist with additional duties as assigned by Supervisor.


Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience, preferred

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred

  • Ability to consistently lift up to 50 pounds and be able to bend, reach, stoop, lift and stand for entire shift

  • Must be able to work overtime with little to no advance notice

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment while meeting hourly established performance standards

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively, build relationships, and work as a team player

  • Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, maintain accurate documentation, and manage priorities

  • Applies knowledge and company policies to complete a variety of tasks

  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of jobs outside area of responsibility

  • Maintains appropriate licenses, training and certifications
