Description
SUMMARY:
The position will perform various line assembly operations such as hand assembling, sanding, edging, sharpening, tycro, buffing, cleaning and/or packaging knives. Position will involve fine manipulation and dexterity of hands and the use of hand tools, power tools and special equipment in order to carry out assembly operations per specifications.
PAY RATE:
$18.00 per hour
SCHEDULE:
Day Shift: Mon. - Thurs., 05:30 AM - 4:00 PM
  • Mandatory Overtime is scheduled 1-3 Friday's per month as needed for production.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following-
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to follow instructions, verbal and written.
  • Ability to repetitively produce/build product in fast paced environment.
  • Ability to handle small parts and assemble quickly, repetitively and accurately.
  • Ability to utilize hand tools, hydraulic press, grinding/leather/tycro wheels, and other machinery necessary in the assembly of knives.
  • Ability to meet cycle time standards based on individual process and/or knives being produced.
  • Wipe/clean knife and place into sheath or package into box.
  • Ability to identify quality defects.
  • Practice 5S in the workplace.
  • Ability to handle sharp knives and other items continuously throughout the shift.
  • Comply with all standard safety practices, safety rules, and all Company rules and policies.
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • All other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will not have any supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Excellent communication, ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to do highly repetitive physical work, paying attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, bill of materials, visual work instructions, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
