Job Description

We're excited to bring eAxle production to the Lowcountry! We are seeking qualified manufacturing engineers to launch our next phase of e-mobility products at our Charleston, SC site.

The manufacturing engineer will be a competency leader in process and planning requirements for e-Machine and e-Axle production within the e-Mobility production group.  This role requires a hands-on approach, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to execute technical initiatives, all with a keen understanding of manufacturing principles and operational efficiency. This individual will have the following responsibilities: 

  • Process owner for processes involved on final assembly of the electrified Motors and Axles
  • Develops best practices for given processes and creates training/documentation
  • Creates and executes production plan
  • Support and implement lead plant/ IPN processes and standards
  • Support ongoing production with problem solving, documentation, and trials for process improvements
  • Derive from customer characteristics required attributes for manufacturing, driving the development of the Process FMEA (PFMEA) and Control Plan
  • Cooperation with internal and external partners (process development, quality, suppliers, production, logistics, quality) for process and equipment optimizations
  • Communication and participation with lead plants and International Production Networks, Center of Competency and Expert Teams on latest technologies and process improvements
  • Conduct and/or participate in customer-required process assessments and audit
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (or similar field)
  • Be a self-starter and innately curious, with the ability and willingness to dive into and lead development of technical processes
  • Have minimum three years’ experience in automated, industrial manufacturing
  • Be comfortable with cross-functional activities and international teams
  • Be structured and systematic in their work approach, willing to adapt to dynamic changes and multi-tasking
  • Be willing and able to travel internationally
  • Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Be adept in systematic problem solving (8D, 5-Why, Shainin, etc.)
  • Project management and ability to lead teams
