Leidosโ€™ Defense Systems Electronic Manufacturing Facility is seeking a Cable Assembly Technician to join our team at our Electronics Manufacturing Facility. The successful candidate will support different programs ranging from commercial customers to DoD customers. The technician will be responsible for building cables in accordance with engineering drawings and work instructions. Responsibilities include cable construction, basic testing, troubleshooting, and repair.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Build, troubleshoot, and repair cable assemblies.
  • Working knowledge and use of tools used for cable manufacturing (strippers, crimpers, solder iron).
  • Interpret engineer drawings, electrical schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Candidates must have experience working with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and other technicians to develop a strategy and identify any problems that could occur during assembly.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting to find faults in signal and connectivity issues.
Basic Qualifications
  • Candidates must possess a High School diploma/GED with 2-4 years cable building and/or electrical/mechanical assembly experience.
  • Working knowledge of specialized tools and equipment used during cable assembly process.
  • Must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) Final Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • This posting is for multiple opportunities ranging in years of experience. Level of opportunity, including compensation, will be matched to a candidate's experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current or prior certification in IPC/WHMA-A-620 with Space addendum.
  • Current or prior certification in J-STD-001.
  • Ability to test cable assemblies for continuity, isolation, insulation resistance, and insertion loss.
