Job description

Assembly Technician
OASYS, INC., a Leading Edge Government contractor in Huntsville Alabama, is seeking applicants for an Assembly Technician to support our customer in Huntsville, Alabama.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Assembly Technician with strong soldering skills to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with electronic components, cable assemblies, and production hardware. A U.S. Secret Clearance is preferred; however, candidates who are eligible and willing to obtain a clearance are also encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform mechanical and electronic assembly of components, sub-assemblies, and systems.
  • Execute precision soldering (including through-hole and surface-mount) following industry standards such as IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and work instructions.
  • Inspect completed assemblies for quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications.
  • Troubleshoot assembly issues and collaborate with engineering or production teams to resolve them.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace and follow all safety guidelines.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in electronic or mechanical assembly.
  • Proficient soldering skills; certification (IPC/J-STD) is a plus.
  • Ability to use hand tools, microscopes, and test equipment such as multimeters.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed work instructions.
  • U.S. citizenship required due to security clearance requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one.
  • Experience in manufacturing, aerospace, or defense environment.
  • Knowledge of ESD handling procedures.

Work Environment & Schedule:
  • On-site role in Huntsville, Alabama.
  • Standard Monday-Friday schedule with occasional overtime based on project needs.
