Title: 1st Shift Engineering Technician
Location: West Columbia, SC
Hire Type: Contract to Hire
Shift: 1st shift | Mon-Fri 7a till 3:30p, Some OT as needed
Pay Range: $24 - $32.50, depending on experience

We are seeking motivated Engineering Technicians to support assembly operations in a newly expanded manufacturing area focused on power distribution units (PDUs), DataBar systems, and cable assemblies. This is a hands-on manufacturing floor role — not a design position — ideal for candidates with strong communication skills, manufacturing experience, and a passion for problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

Job Duties:
  • Assist in developing and improving assembly processes for new or modified products.
  • Participate in creating assembly instructions and work procedures for production teams.
  • Help identify opportunities for process optimization during new product introductions.
  • Serve as the first point of escalation for assembly-related issues on the floor.
  • Work closely with assemblers to diagnose problems and drive corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Materials, Quality, and Test Engineering departments to resolve production challenges.
  • Monitor assembly quality and performance, ensuring products meet specifications and standards.
  • Provide on-the-job training to assemblers as needed and support continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of relevant experience with an Associate degree, or
  • 5+ years of relevant manufacturing experience without a degree
  • Associate degree in a technical or manufacturing discipline preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Basic familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, etc.) for viewing and interpreting drawings.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and solve problems effectively on the production floor.
