BASIC FUNCTION
This position is responsible for the repair and assembly of manual wheelchairs, and will function in all aspects of assembly and Quality Assurance within any manufacturing cell at Smarte Carte, Inc.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assemble and/or oversee the assembly and refurbishing of products according to the latest assembly procedures.
  • Complete assemblies by scheduled date.
  • Assist with inspection of returned equipment and evaluate the extent of refurbishment and new parts needed for the reassembly.
  • Assist in packaging of equipment and staging for shipment to assure set-up for installation and perform quality inspections for final assemblies prior to shipment.
  • Keep the assembly, refurbishing and parts storage area clean and organized.
  • Maintain point of use inventory for each manufacturing cell.
  • Complete job paperwork accurately to assure product configurations are documented accurately and inventory system count integrity is maintained.
  • Observe all safety rules in the operation of tools, equipment and daily work routine.
  • Assure build schedules are met and communicate all potential inventory shortage issues in a timely manner.
  • Organize and maintain tools and work area.
  • Troubleshoot equipment as part of the assembly process.
  • Other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in assembly and inventory control

SKILLS
  • Basic hand tool use
  • Mechanical skills, and or aptitude

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
  • Forklift certification preferred, but not required
  • Drivers License is required,

EDUCATION
  • High school diploma or equivalent

PHYSICIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Lift 80 lbs.
  • Stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, push, pull
  • Lift above head
