Job Description

As a Banquet Server, you have the authority to exceed guest expectations by creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that coincides with our “we’ve been expecting you” sense of arrival for our guests. Your role is crucial because you are pivotal in the guest’s impression of quality service throughout our hotel. From setting up and executing events to the breakdown of the room so that events can happen again the next day – or even the next hour, you are an essential member of the Food & Beverage Team.

Key Focuses

  • Ensures the banquet spaces, lobby, public areas, and storage areas are “picture perfect” for optimal first impressions.
  • Prepares and sets up banquet spaces according to specified plans, including table arrangements, decorations, table linens, table settings, etc.
  • Serves food and beverages to guests promptly, courteously, and professionally.
  • Assists in the assembly and breakdown of all banquet displays and decorations.
  • Clears tables and cleans banquet areas after events, ensuring spaces are ready for future use.
  • Adheres to all regulations governing the service of food and alcohol.

Experience/Passions/Education

  • Previous experience as a server or in a food & beverage position is an asset.
  • Tech savvy.
  • ProServe certification is required.

Working Conditions

This position may work dayshift, afternoon, or evening shift any day of the week or weekend with long days to meet periodic upturns in business demands or meet deadlines. This position is set in a fast-paced and, at times, high-pressure environment that requires continuous physical movement, the ability to lift up to 30 lbs., and the ability to manage multiple sequences and demands. There may be periods of independent work and changes in temperature from the back to the front of the house.
