Job description

As a CPI Assembler/Packer, you will Perform a wider variety of repetitive assembly of the company's products into complete packages and/or sub-assemblies per engineering drawings and customer specifications.
If you've ever wondered what owning your own business is like, just ask an Employee Owner of Chatsworth Products (CPI). Better yet, become one! CPI has an immediate need for an Assembler/Packer in CPI's Georgetown, Texas location.
As a CPI Assembler/Packer, you will perform final inspection of product prior to shipment to customer. May perform additional packaging tasks including but not limited to: generating and placing labels on packages, operating small production equipment, component installation and fitting assembly units. The Assembler/Packer II can rotate throughout the different functional stations of the assembly processes from TeraFrame to Mixed Model line to Cabling Section to Accessories, etc. Responsible for meeting safety, quality and productivity expectations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Under minimal supervision, selects, inspects, assembles and/or packages product for final shipment to customer. Applies labels and palletizes per specifications.
  2. Inspects and maintains workplace for compliance with safety requirements. Corrects any safety issue prior to performing operations.
  3. Requisitions packaging material from warehouse, when necessary. Inspects material for shipping damage and/or supplier defects.
  4. Inspects product per finished goods inspection procedure. Informs Team Leader of any component that needs to be reworked or scrapped.
  5. Certifies that each product has completed Quality Assurance processes via Quality stamp.
  6. Works from blueprints, engineering specifications and production schedules.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Continuously maintains a clean work area. Disposes of trash and production scrap. Assists in cleaning common areas.
  2. Performs other related duties, as assigned by management.

Technical Competencies
  • High school, GED, or equivalent education required.
  • Minimum of 3 years working in a Manufacturing/Industrial or related environment.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and engineering specifications to properly select parts.
  • Capable of using measuring devices to perform product inspection.
  • Available and willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as production demand dictates.

Physical/Environmental Requirements
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, carrying, stooping, and crouching
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
