Job description

Job Overview
Our clients in Etobicoke are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Mechanical Assembler to join their trailer manufacturing team.
The Mechanical Assembler will be responsible for assembling, installing, adjusting, and testing mechanical components on commercial trailers according to engineering drawings, work orders, specifications, and company quality standards.
The successful candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience using hand and power tools, and a commitment to producing safe, high-quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Accountabilities:
• Assemble mechanical components and systems on commercial trailers.
• Install suspension systems, axles, landing gear, brakes, hubs, wheels, and tires.
• Install hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical components as required.
• Mount toolboxes, fenders, bumpers, mud flaps, lighting brackets, and other trailer accessories.
• Read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, specifications, and work orders.
• Measure and verify component locations using tape measures and precision measuring tools.
• Safely operate hand tools, pneumatic tools, torque wrenches, grinders, drills, and other assembly equipment.
• Make adjustments to ensure the proper fit, alignment, and operation of installed components.
• Inspect completed assemblies to confirm they meet engineering specifications and company quality standards.
• Identify and report damaged, defective, incorrect, or missing parts to the supervisor.
• Complete assigned work efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and workmanship.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company health and safety procedures.
• Assist other production departments when required to meet manufacturing schedules.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, and productivity.
• Perform other manufacturing and assembly duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous experience in trailer, truck, heavy equipment, automotive, mechanical assembly, or manufacturing is considered an asset.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, blueprints, and assembly instructions.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, torque tools, and measuring equipment.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems is considered an asset.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs or 23 kg regularly.
• Safety-focused, dependable, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn new skills and manufacturing processes.
• Good attendance, punctuality, and time-management skills.


Shift Time

  • Monday to Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm
  • Pay rate between $21 and $25. Can differ based on experience
