Cleanwater1, Inc., Inc., through its various operating subsidiaries, is one of the most dynamic and fastest growing companies in the water infrastructure market.
The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for performing a wide range of assembly, fabrication, and manufacturing tasks within an industrial environment. This role involves assembling custom industrial mechanical and electrical components, running conduit, and supporting general production and warehouse operations. The Mechanical Assembler must be reliable, hard-working, safety-focused, and able to work independently or as part of a team. This position reports to the Operations Manager. This is a full-time position based at the Company’s Grain Valley, Missouri office location.
Essential Job Functions
  • Measure, cut, thread, glue, drill, and tap plastic and metal plumbing according to engineered drawings.
  • Use hand and power tools to cut, grind, fabricate, and fasten mechanical components using screws, nuts, bolts, or other hardware.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical assembly on components, sub-assemblies, and top-level assemblies by following drawings, procedures, and instructions.
  • Perform basic wiring and terminations from electrical drawings (control panels, devices, interconnects).
  • Operate industrial machinery such as saws, threaders, and paint equipment.
  • Run and install electrical conduit (rigid, PVC, or flexible) as needed.
  • Interconnect mechanical and electrical components on skids or equipment.
  • Fabricate and assemble wooden crates, skids, and support structures for equipment mounting or shipping.
  • Assemble, package, and prepare products and equipment for shipment in a safe and timely manner.
  • Troubleshoot assemblies and work with the Service department to repair customer equipment.
  • Read and interpret instructions and drawings; asking clarifying questions as needed.
  • Meet project deadlines and shipping schedules.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in production of mechanical, plumbing components, drilling, and measurement skills.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in industrial production or maintenance.
  • Operation of basic hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.).
  • Operation of basic power tools (hand drill, drill press, grinder, etc.).
  • Knowledge of fabrication shop tools and safety procedures.
  • Ability to read and do general math.
  • Ability to interpret and work from shop drawings and blueprints.
  • Ability to understand wiring and electrical schematics.
  • Communicate effectively with internal staff and customers and work cohesively in a team environment.
  • Clear and concise oral and written English language communication skills required, including proper grammar and e-mail etiquette.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to successfully handle work situations efficiently, professionally and effectively.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Detail oriented, with a high degree of follow-through.

Preferred Qualifications

Physical Demands
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, speak and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Must have manual dexterity to operate the equipment and tools required for this position.
  • Must be able to quickly respond (with the hand, finger or foot) to a signal (sound, light, picture) when it appears.
  • Must maintain clean and professional appearance while working with customers, vendors and colleagues.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment
  • Medium Industrial - May be exposed to areas of high noise levels, hazardous propellants, chemicals and industrial facilities. Appropriate PPE and training will be provided for all conditions.

This position is non-exempt. Compensation is dependent on skill level. The base salary range for this position is between $24.00 and $26.00 per hour. Benefits package and incentives are provided. We generally offer employees working 21 hours per work or more medical, dental, vision, along with voluntary ancillary benefits. The Company has a 401(k)-match program and has company-paid life and AD amp;D insurance available for eligible employees.
