Job Title: Cabinet Maker

Job Description

The Cabinet Maker fabricates, assembles, and finishes high-quality cabinetry and architectural millwork in a clean, organized production environment. This role requires strong woodworking skills, precise craftsmanship, and the ability to interpret shop drawings and work orders while meeting established quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, assemble, and finish custom cabinetry and architectural millwork to high quality standards.
  • Read and interpret shop drawings, work orders, and documentation from planning and engineering departments.
  • Measure, cut, and prepare raw materials accurately using tape measures and other measuring tools.
  • Select appropriate materials and perform quality control checks throughout the production process.
  • Visually inspect products at each stage of fabrication and assembly to ensure they meet specifications and quality requirements.
  • Set up and properly operate stationary power tools such as table saws and bandsaws, as well as a variety of hand power tools.
  • Use hand tools and woodworking equipment safely and efficiently to build and assemble components.
  • Work effectively at production stations and in cabinetmaking areas focused on custom projects.
  • Follow established production processes, safety procedures, and company standards in all tasks.
  • Collaborate with team members in a production environment to meet project timelines and output goals.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace and contribute to overall shop cleanliness and organization.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience working as a cabinet maker in a wood or manufacturing shop, including custom project experience.
  • Strong woodworking and carpentry skills with the ability to build high-quality cabinetry and millwork.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting shop drawings and work orders.
  • Accurate measurement skills using tape measures and other measuring tools.
  • Ability to select appropriate materials and perform material quality control.
  • General knowledge of how to set up and properly run stationary power tools such as table saws and bandsaws.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools used in cabinet making and woodworking.
  • Ability to visually inspect products throughout the process to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Comfort working in a production environment with both standard and custom work.

Work Environment

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Calgary, AB.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
