Gras Lawn, a commercial landscape company, is seeking an experienced Landscape Business Developer for the South Jersey Market. Your main responsibility is developing business with potential new customers, building and maintaining trusted relationships with key decision-makers, understanding their challenges, and creating value solutions. Your role also involves effectively identifying opportunities, gathering valuable intelligence, creating customer-centric proposals, collaborating with team members, meeting specific activity targets, and closing deals.


The Business Developer focuses on strengthening Gras Lawn’s market presence and driving profitable growth. This position plays a key role in meeting long-term strategic objectives by fostering important customer relationships, identifying business opportunities, negotiating and closing deals, and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the current market landscape. 

  • Identify and understand the challenges of prospective clients and develop solutions.
  • Provide accurate forecasts for sales, deliverables, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Achieve sales goals while having the ability to work independently.
  • Use sales techniques to find new customers and build long-term business relationships. Also, focus on marketing and pricing strategies. 
  • Conduct phone prospecting, sales presentations, virtual demonstrations, and contract negotiations with minimal supervision.
  • Identify customer needs and apply solution-based selling techniques to demonstrate the value of Gras Lawn’s services effectively.
  • Build and nurture relationships with potential and current clients.
  • Plan your daily activities and aim to meet specific performance benchmarks to close business deals successfully.
  • Consistently and reliably log activities in the CRM.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strong sense of urgency.
  • Communicate proactively with all clients, prospects, and colleagues. 

Skills Required:

  • Extensive experience in the Commercial Landscape Industry
  • Proven track record of sales goal attainment and pipeline management 
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in B2B sales at mid-to-senior levels.
  • Local knowledge and contacts in one or more market segments 
  • Proficient with computer programs, including Aspire and a CRM tool 
  • Highly competitive, positive, and results-driven 
  • Exceptional multitasker. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities, strong presentation skills, and professional experience with social media. 
  • Passionate, organized, and resourceful individual with outstanding listening and interpersonal skills. 
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and hardworking, with effective time management capabilities. 
  • Easily adaptable to new situations.
  • Salary commensurate with experience.
  • You will be responsible for:
  • The Business Developer oversees the sales pipeline from the prospecting stage to closing and is accountable for the entire sales cycle, including snow sales in certain regions. Additionally, the Business Developer works in collaboration with partners across operations, finance, marketing, and other departments to effectively respond to bids and achieve sales goals.
