This role is engineered for an autonomous field leader who can seamlessly manage multiple moving parts, from grading handoffs and heavy rolling patterns to milling logistics and final striping details. You will hold complete site authority, supervising field crews and trade subcontractors while protecting target profit margins and timeline constraints. Key Responsibilities

  • Field Operations Command: Supervise and sequence daily field operations for asphalt paving, including subgrade grading coordination, mat paving, rolling patterns, joint construction, and technical quality control.
  • Surface Protection and Markings: Oversee specialized seal coating and pavement striping operations, ensuring final delivery matches precise engineering standards and client brand guidelines.
  • Logistics and Resource Architecture: Schedule and optimize daily allocations for manpower, hot mix material delivery, trucking fleets, and heavy equipment logistics to maintain aggressive construction schedules.
  • Technical Quality Supervision: Audit and manage real time asphalt delivery temperatures, material yields, density requirements, and roller compaction procedures to guarantee a flawless finish.
  • Bilingual Crew Mentorship: Manage, train, and mentor on site field crews in both English and Spanish, translating complex specifications into actionable field instructions while driving production goals.
  • Civil Plan Interpretation: Read, interpret, and cross reference civil engineering drawings, grading plans, specifications, and regulatory guidelines across multiple active projects simultaneously.
  • Strict Safety and Traffic Control: Conduct mandatory daily safety meetings and strictly enforce OSHA and company protection standards, including the correct layout of complex traffic control and flagging operations.
  • Administrative Quantities Tracking: Track and report daily field material quantities, labor hours, equipment utilization rates, and project progress metrics to support accurate reporting and billing.


What You Need to Succeed (Qualifications)

Required

  • Superintendent Tenure: 5 plus years of verified professional experience within heavy civil paving and civil infrastructure construction, with a minimum of 2 years operating successfully in a Superintendent or Lead Field Foreman capacity.
  • Linguistic Fluency: Must be completely bilingual in verbal and written English and Spanish to support crew safety and field coordination.
  • Technical Trade Mastery: Deep operational knowledge of asphalt laydown procedures, compaction requirements, roadway and parking lot engineering, milling sequencing, seal coating chemistry, and striping methods.
  • Civil Blueprint Literacy: Advanced ability to read, navigate, and build directly from complex civil engineering drawings, structural specs, and layout grids.
  • Logistics Command: Proven track record coordinating paving equipment maintenance, haul trucking logistics, hot mix plant timing, and specialty trade subcontractors.
